Palate or Palette?

Or is it pallet? Hmmm. Whether it is fun in the sun in Florida or pumpkin time in the Northeast, a little bit of learning is always in order. With that in mind, it is time to introduce a simple word challenge in which the whole family or group of friends can play along. Today's effort is to find as many heterographs as you can - these are words that sound alike, but have different spellings and different meanings. Here are some to get started:

  1. PALATE, PALETTE, PALLET
  2. THERE, THEIR, THEY'RE
  3. HOLE, WHOLE
  4. LIST, LISZT
  5. TIME, THYME
  6. ROLL, ROLE
  7. SURE, SHORE
  8. OR, OAR, O'ER
  9. REST, WREST
  10. PLAIN, PLANE
  11. TO, TOO, TWO
  12. READ, REED
  13. RED, READ
  14. SOME, SUM
  15. CONK, CONCH
